capable Pastor of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, in the person of Rev.
Gilbert M. Mack Jr. Pastor Mack accepted the challenge to lead this
historic church in Winchester, Virginia in September of 1997 and the
Church has not been the same since. In an effort to bring down the
walls that separate the people of God and the Community, Pastor Mack has lead the church to
bridge the gaps by making the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church a Multi-cultural Church, determined
to bring all nations together under one roof. The reorganization of the church and the creation
of new ministries, such as New Members' Class, Discipleship Class, God's Freedom Fighters
Deliverance Ministry, Prison Ministry and Others, is helping people to grow in so many ways.
Pastor Mack believes in a holistic ministry and developing mind, body, and soul.
Prior to coming to Winchester, he served for three years as the first full-time Youth Pastor of
the Matthews Memorial Baptist Church in Southeast Washington, D.C., under the leadership
of Pastor John H. Kearney, Sr. There he served on the Executive Youth Advisory Board.
Pastor Mack received his early education from the Prestigious Baltimore City College Senior
High in Maryland, which has the distinction of being the second, oldest public high school in
the country. Pastor Mack went on to Western Maryland college where he earned his
Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Human Relations, as well as being commissioned as a 2nd
Lieutenant in the United States Army. Continuing his quest for Excellence, he went on to earn
a Master's Degree in Religion from the Historic Howard University School of Divinity in
Washington, DC.
Pastor Mack is married to Dr. Angela Harden-Mack, a Specialist in Pediatric and Internal
Medicine, they have 3 children their oldest daughter Jasmine, A son Joshua and their youngest
daughter Julia. He is a Husband and a Father but above all, Pastor Mack is a child of God,
who seems to lead the Church and Community to ...
